January 30, 2018 Tuesday-A cold morning to start off with. Otherwise a sunny day all the way through Wisconsin and down through Illinois. Tonight we’ll stay at the Drury Inn in Mount Vernon.

January 31, 2018 Wednesday-A great day to visit Graceland in Memphis. Sunny all day in the low 60’s. We went inside the mansion, planes and viewed all the costumes, cars and artifacts. Graceland is all new except the home. It’s very spacious and well arranged. Tonight we stay in Canton Mississippi.

February 1, 2018 Thursday-We stopped this morning at the Louisiana welcome center, then it hit 70 degrees as we crossed the Mississippi and toured the Oak Alley Plantation. We had no problems pulling into New Orleans and after refreshments and checking into our hotel, we had dinner at the New Orleans Cooking School. It was a wonderful day and can’t wait for tomorrow.

February 2, 2018 Friday-A cool morning to start with on our city tour. We visited a cemetery,  drove through the town and saw both beautiful and devastated homes left over from Katrina. We ended at the French Quarter with free time for lunch, shopping and a trip to Bourbon Street. There were bands playing and a chance to go into the St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. Our next stop was Mardi Gras World, they make the floats here and it was great to see that before our parade. The parade was a block from the hotel so we walked. It started out slow but when it picked up the beads were flying through the air. No one left empty handed. The temperature was mid 50’s with no rain. A very busy day.

February 3, 2018 Saturday-Today we’ll stop at the World War II Museum before boarding our ship. They keep adding more and more onto this museum. On our way to the ship we saw more floats preparing for the days parades. Boarding the ship was a quick process and soon we were having lunch. It started to rain and soon we were on our  way down the Mississippi and out to  Gulf of Mexico.

February 4, 2018 Sunday- Today was a relaxing day at sea. it was warm but very windy. Tonight the Super Bowl was on both the big screen inside and at the Seaside Theater.

February 5, 2018 Monday-At Cozumel today it was sunny and 80. There were so many things to do on shore or you could do nothing. Tonight on the ship along with the bands, casino and entertainment, there was a Magic Show.

February 6, 2018 Tuesday-At Progresso another beautiful day. You can mingle with locals and see their everyday shops and the beach is also right there. A bus ride to the Capital and you can tour museums and beautiful churches. It’s just another day of culture and fun.

February 7, 2018 Wednesday-Our last full day on the ship and it’s a day at sea. Time to get in on those last minute bargains and cash out your casino winnings. Our last night for shows and music before getting it all packed up for tomorrow.

February 8, 2018 Thursday-Another sunny day, cooler high 50’s but it still felt great. It was just a travel day and everyone enjoyed the ride all the way to Tunica. We’re staying at Sams Town – it has great food and a nice selection of slots and table games.

February 9, 2018 Friday-When we left Sams Town this morning, our first stop was the Pyramid in Memphis. It’s now the Bass Pro Shop with wildlife displays, fish and ponds and a very unique bowling alley. You can take the elevator to the top, right around 30 floors to get a good look of downtown Memphis and the Mississippi River. Tonight we’ll stay at the Drury Inn in Springfield IL.

February 10, 2018 Saturday-It’s our last day. Our first encounter with rain in nearly two weeks. It’s freezing rain, sleet and snow. Not a lot so we right on schedule arriving. Janesville at 11:00 am for lunch. Soon we’ll be back ending our tour.
