June 11, 2023 Sunday Cloudy all day and cool. We crossed the Mackinaw Bridge on our way to our hotel in Mackinaw City. Hoping for warmer temperatures and no rain for tomorrow, we’ll see.
June 12, 2023– Monday Cool, but no rain this morning. Taking the ferry to Mackinac Island, we detoured for a trip under the bridge for a better view. Once on the Island, lilacs were in full bloom for the festival. So many different colors to see. We started with a carriage tour of the island then transferred to larger wagons and continued the tour into the state park. Lunch was included at the Grand Hotel, the floral landscaping is the finest. the rest of the day, everyone had free time on the island for shopping and relaxation.
June 13, 2023 Tuesday Off and on rain did’t stop our fun. From the Tower of History in Saulte Ste Marie we could see all the way into Canada, the Soo Locks and surrounding area. on the boat tour we locked through and saw some mighty big ore ships. We had lunch then went through the Valley Camp, a retired ore ship museum. Very interesting and informative. Tonight we stay at the Island Casino in Harris Michigan.
June 14, 2023 Wednesday it warmed up today and a perfect time to tour Lambeau Field in Green Bay. You don’t have to be a Packer fan or even like football to enjoy this tour (but it helps). An amazing story about this historic field and team. With our usual stops, we should arrive home on time.
