May 1, 2019 Wednesday-A little foggy this morning but by noon, it was warmer when we arrived in Oklahoma City. We stopped at the Oklahoma Art Museum which has a display of Chihuly Glass. This glass is so beautiful. Other modern art adorns the walls and we all had a good time here. We then stopped for lunch ans visited one of the Texas Welcome Centers. Tonight we’ll stay in Amarillo Texas.

May 2, 2019 Thursday-A rainy morning in Amarillo. We stuck it and went through the mud to the Cadillac Ranch. It was funny, mud everywhere. We had a good time here then went south to Palo Duro Canyon. It’s called the Grand Canyon of Texas and it was very lush with the recent rains they had. This afternoon we stopped in Roswell New Mexico at the UFO Museum. A fun museum and a real fun town. Tonight we stayed in Artesia NM and oil & gas producing city.

May 3, 2019 Friday- Sunny today reaching 90 in the afternoon. We spent the morning at Carlsbad Caverns – most of group had never been there before and everyone thought it was great. Easy to get around and just beautiful. On the road in the afternoon we saw the border wall in El Paso with Mexico just on the other side. We drove through some Pecan Orchards ending the day in Las Cruces New Mexico.

May 4, 2019 Saturday- A sunny day at White Sands National Monument. The sand is pure white and the custom here is to bring a snow saucer and sled down the dunes. It was a fun adventure. This afternoon we continued west to Tucson driving by the military aircraft boneyard. We’ll spend the next two nights at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson.

May 5, 2019 Sunday- A sunny warm day high 80’s, but a breeze all day helped keep things cool. This morning we stopped at the Sonora Desert Museum and walked among all the flowering cactus. The desert can be a beautiful place. This afternoon we stopped at the Old Tucson Movie Studios. What a fun place. There were stage shows, gunfights and stunt shows, it was great. We ended the day with a stop at the San Xavier Mission Church.

May 6, 2019 Monday- We had a scenic drive today. Still visible are the saguaro Cactus along the highway. We traveled through Phoenix to the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. The drive through Oak Creek Canyon was breath taking all the way to the vista point. Back on the freeway we saw many, many elk along the road.

May 7, 2019 Tuesday- Today we went to the Grand Canyon. The way the weather looked, we didn’t know what to expect. But it stayed dry with some sun and just a few drops of rain. Great for picture taking. After 4 hours here, everyone felt we had enough time and we were on our way to Las Vegas. We’ll stay 2 nights at the Golden Nugget downtown right on Fremont street.

May 8, 2019 Wednesday- You never know how hot it can get in Las Vegas, but for us, it was perfect – mid to high 80’s, sunny with a breeze. We started out with a tour of the Hoover Dam entering the power plant. Back just before noon and the rest of the day was free time to visit the strip or Take in all the action on Fremont Street.

May 9, 2019 Thursday- In Utah went to Zion National Park. We had lunch then took the trams up the canyon. The cliffs extend one mile up from the valley floor. It was another day filled with amazing sites. Tonight we’ll stay in Richfield Utah.
