Wednesday – This morning we stopped at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. This is a fantastic museum. From western Hollywood show exhibits, to the rodeo and Native American culture. They even have a mock city street inside. The weather was great, sunny and 70’s so the outside sculpture garden and blooming flowers were a special treat. Slow road construction this afternoon delayed our hotel arrival but we still took the time to get some pictures with the Texas stone sculpture.

Thursday – A day with a schedule full of neat things to see. In Austin TX at the Bob Bullock State History Museum there was an exciting movie giving everyone a short history lesson about Texas. Inside the museum great exhibits and outside was the State Capitol. Driving to San Antonio we checked into our Riverwalk hotel and the boats arrived to give us a good orientation tour of the Riverwalk. Tonight we can walk across the street and watch the “SAGA”,  another colorful show on the facade of the San Fernando Cathedral. Inside the church are the remains of some of the defenders of the Alamo and a beautiful altar.

Friday – Another great day, sunny and high 70’s. We started at the San Jose Mission visiting the church and walking around inside the protective walls. We had lunch at the Market place, a great place for shopping and eats. Travelled across town to watch the Alamo IMAX Movie then spent the rest of our time at the Alamo and having a leisurely walk back to the hotel.

Saturday A wonderful day. Flowers along the freeway brightened our trip to Waco for lunch and looking around at Chip and Joanna’s Magnolia Market Place. In Fort worth we watched the cattle drive and returned later to see the rodeo. Very exciting.

Sunday Our coolest day so far, mid 60’s and cloudy. We started in Dallas with a city tour at the spot where JFK was shot, we saw the grassy knoll and later toured the  Book Depository Museum where the shot originated from. We drove around town then entered a very exclusive neighborhood where the likes of Mark Cuban and where Ross Perot once lived. On our way out of town we stopped at Southfork Ranch where the TV Series Dallas was filmed. Tonight we’re staying at one of the worlds largest casino hotels. Over 1400 rooms at the Winstar World Casino.

Monday -Decent weather today, windy at times, sunny and cloudy, a wide variety but no rain. We had an interesting Ranger talk at the Oklahoma City Memorial where the bomb went off in 1995 and killed 168. Each victim has a chair representing their life. It is a peaceful tribute to them. Tonight we stay in the Kansas city area at the Hampton Inn.

Tuesday – Our last day is cold and very windy. We stopped in Iowa at the Iowa Welcome Center with features a store with Amish products and food. Back on the road, we should stay very close to our schedule.
